Developing good mechanics all begins at the balance point. This is probably one of the most poorly misunderstood aspects of the mechanics. Some pitching “experts” teach pitchers to reach a balance point at the peak of their leg lift. This is technique is absolutely detrimental to velocity, and no high velocity MLB pitcher reaches this so-called point of balance in their delivery. Professional pitchers are balanced throughout their delivery, but most importantly, they are moving towards the plate at each state of their mechanics. The traditional balance point idea is that pitchers should be perpendicular with their weight shifted over the drive leg. This technique is an absolute velocity killer.
Increase Bat Speed- Tips To Improve Bat Speed Fast, Learning how to increase bat speed can lead you in many different directions. Everyone seems to have an opinion on what works the best, and frankly, there are clearly some real gimmicky products and techniques that will do more harm than good with your swing.
Professional pitchers are known for throwing around 70 to 75 percent first-pitch strikes in game. Every pitcher should try to reach this level of efficiency because it will make it easier to control at-bats. Now that you have successfully entered the 0-1 count, you will have a little leeway on what types of pitches to throw, and where you would like to locate them. The number one strategy in this pitch count is to get another strike on the batter. However, this doesn’t mean that you throw a meaty fastball down the middle of the plate.
