Developing good mechanics all begins at the balance point. This is probably one of the most poorly misunderstood aspects of the mechanics. Some pitching “experts” teach pitchers to reach a balance point at the peak of their leg lift. This is technique is absolutely detrimental to velocity, and no high velocity MLB pitcher reaches this so-called point of balance in their delivery.
